1960: US State Dept. Plane Explodes During Bombing of Cuba

"A plane explodes while trying to bomb the Espafra Sugar Mill.
Documents found in the wreckage reveal that Robert Ellis Frost,
the pilot who died in the crash, had invaded Cuban territory on
three occasions. The U.S. State Department admits that the flight originated in its territory and apologizes."
